The Riesling Rail Trail in the Clare Valley is a packed gravel surface, high quality cycling trail, suitable for all levels of riders and easy enough for non-riders too. The Rail Trail is dotted with amazing cellar doors, food stops and gorgeous rolling vineyards as a constant backdrop.

The cycling distances on both days of your tour are around the 30kms, and mostly flat, so this tour is categorised as &#39;easy&#39;, or beginner. &nbsp;But even if you don&#39;t cycle or want to keep up with your regular cycling friends, you can use an ebike! &nbsp;These battery charged bikes ride and look like a normal hybrid bike, and come with a pedal assist technology, meaning the bike can sense when you need an extra boost and provide a little bit of assistance through your pedalling. &nbsp;Arrive at lunch with a smile!

Self guided cycling tours do require participants to be adaptable and able to solve issues whilst on tour. &nbsp;On call support is included in your tour, but it is expected that you will know how to repair punctures and make minor adjustments to gears, handlebars and seats if required, and if bringing your own bike then this is expected. For anything more serious, The Operator will be able to assist with a call to our 1300 665 330 number at any time during your trip. &nbsp;You should be able to read a map and follows directions, either on a device or a printed map (supplied) and that you have a good sense of direction. &nbsp; Getting a little bit lost, or having to ask locals for directions is all part of choosing to travel on a self guided basis. &nbsp;The maps and directions provided to you is updated regularly and tailored to your specific trip (hotels, restaurants are noted, and marked).&nbsp;&nbsp;

Make your own way to Auburn (start of the Clare Valley). Today, you will enjoy a dinner at the iconic Rising Sun Hotel. Overnight in Auburn

Day 2: 
After breakfast, you will jump on your bike and head into the Clare Valley following the easy gradient of the Riesling Rail Trail. Stopping at a number of wineries for tastings and after admiring the charming rural scenery, you arrive for our lunch at Skillogalee. A long lunch and we are back on the Rail Trail heading into the town Clare itself, for our overnight stay. Cycling distance: 35kms

Day 3: 
Following a slightly different route, today is another day of cellar door visits in the Clare Valley and enjoying the beautiful cycling on the Riesling Rail Trail. &nbsp;A sumptuous lunch at O&#39;Leary Walker Wines along with across the valley views, you cycle into Auburn. Cycling distance: 30kms
